I’m sure you agree with me. Let's face it; there are standards. There are ways to do things, and ways things just shouldn’t be done. Any intelligent person will agree.
I won’t mince words. There are those who are light in color and those who are dark. They are created differently; that's plain to see. I suppose each has their purpose. I know some people feel we should welcome diversity in these modern times, but I have never been able to accept that. The old standards are best, as far as I’m concerned.
I don't want to get into a big discussion over which type is better. Everyone knows each has its own special attributes and each its own admirers. I’m not ashamed to admit I prefer those who are lighter in color (clearly superior, in every way) - and there are certainly many who agree with me. But, to each their own. As long as the light-colored ones remain in their environment and the darker ones keep to themselves, everything will be as it was meant to be.
Well, I can’t even bear to say this, but this morning I discovered there is going to be a joining together. There is a request to blend the two types. I just can't imagine it! How can any right-thinking person consider that? Keeping each the two types pure is just simple logic. If the essence of each is not kept pure, there may be all sorts of negative results. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what kind of problems will result if this is allowed to happen.
But… I'm cringing as I see the evidence, right in front of my horrified eyes: a dozen beautiful vanilla cupcakes with loops of sinuous dark chocolate; ruining their pristine perfection. I can't imagine WHAT the cook was thinking. The thought of these two disparate flavors blending with each other is more than I can bear! I like to think of myself as a modern oven, and I do want to keep up with the times, but this is just too much.
I mean, what's next? Strawberry icing?
