The shipment has been dispatched. However, we were unable to deliver it to the address you supplied as our policy does not allow us to leave such a package unattended. Please call us between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm to arrange delivery. The telephone number is as above.

Dear Mr Crawford,
I have tried several times to contact you by phone, unsuccessfully. The contents of the package about which you wrote to me is a complete mystery to me. Would you please explain what the package contains.
Could you please phone me on the above number, as I have not been able to get through to you.
Yours sincerely,
(Mrs) Roslyn Rutherford
Dear Mrs Rutherford,
My secretary has repeatedly phoned your number and has never managed to find you home. The package addressed to you is still in our warehouse, awaiting your instructions. It is not our company policy to reveal the contents of packages addressed to private addresses.
Please ring the above number to arrange a mutually suitable time for delivery of the package.
Sincerely,
James H Crawford
Dear Mr Crawford,
This is an impossible situation. I am unable to contact you and you are unable to contact me. Neither can you clarify the nature of the package.
Of course, by now, I am very curious as to its contents and wish to have it in my possession as soon as possible. So, I will ensure that I am home all day on Wednesday 24th May to receive the parcel. I look forward to its delivery on that day.
Kind regards,
Roslyn Rutherford
Mrs Rutherford,
We will be unable to deliver your package on Wednesday 24th May as we only deliver to the Western suburbs on Thursdays and Fridays. Could you please choose a Thursday or a Friday for its delivery.
Regards,
James H Crawford
Mr Crawford,
I am beginning to lose patience with your company, and its policies. This exchange of letters has been a big waste of time. You have failed to provide any clarity regarding the expedition of this delivery. It has taken six letters to discover when your delivery days are, and it has been impossible to find out any details by phoning you, as your phone does not seem to work.
I have a nephew who lives near your warehouse. I will instruct him to collect my package directly from you. His name is Samuel Rutherford and he will come next Monday.
Regards,
Roslyn Rutherford.
Message on Answering Machine:
Hi Aunty Ros, Sam here.
I went to the address you gave me, and guess what? A sign said, “Moved to new premises at 44 Rockcliff Road.” So, I headed over there. A sign on the door said '”Pick-ups only between 11.00 and 2.00”. It was 10.30.
Well, after all the confusion you've had, I just had to wait for them to open. So, I have the package! I'll bring it over after work.
Oh yes, I just have to tell you what the company slogan is: Clear-cut Service, Quick and Easy.
I do hope that package is worth having.
