Walking in circles and wasting my soul,
Blind to my blessings, empty inside,
Crying for mercy, sins on a roll.
Looking for something I couldn't see,
Words of wisdom fell on deaf ears,
Searching for something I couldn't feel,
Each fragile breath came with great fears.
Deep in my heart I hungered,
Pain ripped through my very core,
Each laborious step I lumbered,
Every move I made left me sore.
One night as I lay dying,
Terror shook inside my being,
I cried out to God for mercy,
Sickness was all I was feeling.
Then! A light of compassion!
Somewhere my voice was heard,
A Man appeared and came calling,
I listened to every word.
He beckoned me toward a light,
With grace He directed me home,
His beautiful face was beaming,
I no longer desired to roam.
“Come with me, child” He said,
“I’ve waited for you for years”
I felt myself transformed,
Amidst a sea of tears.
I fell at once to my knees,
To beg forgiveness from God,
I felt the jolt of salvation,
As sure as a lightning rod.
No longer lost and wandering,
So my story has been told,
This is my testimony,
Christ took me into his fold.
