Topic: Right and Left (07/31/14)
Night, once hidden behind day’s curtain,
Brings moonlight, hazy auras to glow
Between the blinds at my bedroom window.
I’m drifting adrowse with dreams interrupted
And thoughts unwelcome clamoring.
Elusive sleep hides beneath the influx
Of troubling news stories that replay in my mind.
Amid all these concerns, a sudden awareness
Of blessings, right and left, wraps around me.
In the dim light, I see beside me
The rounded shoulder of my life mate,
And I’m reminded how, with His Word,
God has guarded and guided us together
And gifted us with children and grandchildren.
In my blanket of blessings, I reflect on
Marvels of creation, coast to mountaintop,
Freedoms in my native land,
Daily provision and comforts of life to enjoy,
And most of all, God’s love in every circumstance.
I pray with thankfulness for God’s goodness
And give petition for His help in every problem.
I ask Him to make me an ambassador of His peace.
Then, secure in the all-sufficiency of Almighty God,
I sleep.

Oh this is great, real good soul-food. I am tempted to print it out and keep it at the bedside to read by torchlight in any 'night-awake-hours'. A lovely poem, written straight from the heart, to the heart. Thankyou.
