Gemma nodded her head. She looked at the man with the long robe and shivered. The book was open and he had a pen in his huge hands. She couldn’t really see his face as the hood was pulled closely over his head therefore obscuring her view.
“Whom do you love with all of your might, mind, body, and soul?”
“The Lord my God,” Gemma answered rapidly with a generous smile. That was easy enough she thought to herself.
The man in the hood scrawled quickly on the book’s page. She heard a low growl and sensed it was her stomach, she was famished. She couldn't recall the last time she’d eaten. All she’d remembered was a loud shout, and being transferred to an island instantly…and now here she sat on a jagged rock facing this inquiry team.
“Whom do you ask for help and guidance?” His voice resonated throughout the island.
Gemma didn’t need to think, “The Lord my God.”
The man in the hood moved the pen expeditiously. Again, Gemma’s stomach growled. The individuals seated around the man in the hood were dressed in a similar fashion. The only differences being their robes were black and yellow, whereas the man asking the questions wore solid red.
“Think about this next question for a moment before answering Gemma. It has three components, or more to the point…three questions in one.” The voice was deeper than before and the decibel level seemed to increase exponentially.
“Okay.” Gemma waited for the final questions.
“Do you believe that God sent His only begotten Son for your salvation? Do you believe he was crucified to take away the sin of the world? And, do you believe he rose again and offers you eternity if you shall believe in Him?”
“Oh Yes! I believe in Jesus my Lord and Savior…the King of kings and Author of salvation. The Prince of peace and God’s only begotten Son, who shed blood so that whoever shall believe will share in eternal life in heaven. Oh yes! I believe! Hallelujah! Amen.”
This time Gemma heard a shriek along with a snarl. Then the growling and hissing began. She watched in shock as the figure before her disrobed and became a wild-eyed sub-being in front of her eyes.
“You’ve answered all incorrectly! You insolent piece of rubbish. And, for that you will suffer the consequences thereof.” He rushed over to her snarling and spewing yellow and green saliva, “You are now officially voted off this island. You could have stayed here with us for all eternity had you answered correctly. Instead, you'll be thrown into that shark infested ocean.”
He pointed to his minions with yellow eyes as they rushed toward Gemma grabbing her violently.
“No! What are you doing? No…leave me alone!”
“Throw this piece of garbage into the ocean. Now!”
Gemma’s screams were futile as she was thrown into the ocean. Sharks neared her body immediately.
She prayed, “Dear Lord, I love You…help me please Father, help me!”
Suddenly she heard a trumpet sound and a flash of lightening…and witnessed the most beautiful looking man seated on a white horse. The light that surrounded Him was magnificent and practically blinding. A royal army surrounded Him.
“Come my child” His voice was gentle yet strong. He scooped Gemma up from the shark infested waters and placed her upon a horse beside Him. “You did well my child, very well. It’s okay now. The trials and temptations are all over. It’ll be fine from here on, I promise.”
She felt love like she’d never experienced in her lifetime and safe and secure. She was now in her spiritual body alongside the Lamb of God, amidst His powerful army. She heard screams and shouts and squeals as the island’s inhabitants were thrown into a lake of fire. Voices screaming, “I should have picked you Jesus…”
And, then within minutes, a deafening silence. Until Gemma heard harps playing, and angelic voices singing. She walked the main road of Salvation City until heaven’s doors opened. She immediately saw her earth daddy, dearly beloved friends, and many family members who kissed and hugged her.
She heard His marvelous voice beside her, “Welcome home my faithful servant, you did extremely well my child. And, now…come, please join me at the wedding table, I’ve prepared quite a feast…”
