Dripping blood-like sweat, God heard Him;
How could He face the road ahead--
Sorrow distressed His soul with dread,
We know the feeling all too well
Fearing, doubting--these come from hell,
When fear attacked His mortal brain
Divine strength came from God’s domain,
Betrayed--blood drips--stagnant air--
Love, not nails bound Him there
Around her neck, a tiny cross
Which long ago had lost its gloss,
Her fingers clutched the tarnished jewel
Life ebbed, one dabbed her drips of drool,
A weakened smile, then softness dressed
Their mother’s face with happiness,
Precisely when He called her name
She leaned into the arms that came
To gently guide her journey home,
Through life and death, we’re not alone
Compassion spills so lovingly
As friends extend their sympathy,
Tears are shed, hearts are aching
While God reveals in the taking--
His love will see each through their pain,
Not a drop of peace will He restrain
Until joy comes on promised morns
With refreshment for each heart once torn,
Parched spirits recharge with heaven’s dew
Laughter returns, today’s brand new
When each believer’s journey ends
Souls reunite with long missed kin
Scarlet drops, trails of tears
Were shed for all through their years
Each name inscribed o’er hammered scars
Says we are His, and He is ours
Not by force, but by invitation
Will Jesus come-- no hesitation,
Life will not cease within His light
Get right with God--today, tonight
