What we choose to feast on
affects each heart and mind
There’s the bounty of creation
that can fill a soul with awe
God’s detailed painted landscapes
and mountain views that drop the jaw
There’s richness found in family bonds
and friends who’d give their lives
How priceless--unselfish love that’s shared
between honoring husbands and faithful wives
Volunteers whose generous giving
of time and talent for other’s needs
Fill the planet up with smiles
that may soften another’s greed
When browsing worldly tables
filled with sumptuous delights
Guard your conscience with diligence
some rotting treats make wrongs look right
Pride that goes too far
is sure to bring destruction
Cheating just a little bit
doesn’t mean it’s not corruption
Over indulgence with anything
cannot bring about good results
When looking for life’s answers
carefully choose whom to consult
What we feed our searching spirits
someday become our soul
Anticipation of our banquet
keeps our heart on heaven’s goal
The banquet we’re invited to
human minds just cannot grasp
It’s eternally available
Once through heavenly gates we pass
