Simon leaned forward in his chair. "And just what would that be?"
"Well, it has to do with Saul."
"Oh. You've heard from him already? I wasn't expecting to hear anything from him for another day or so. What's the problem, then? Did he gather so many followers of The Way on his way to Damascus that we won't have anywhere to put all of them?"
"Not exactly, Sir." An awkward silence filled the air.
"Are you going to elaborate, Ezra?"
Well, you see, Sir, he kind of... he uh..."
"Come on. Spit it out."
"He... uh..." Ezra's voice dropped to a whisper. "converted, Sir."
"He what? I can't believe.... Oh, I get it. Very funny, Ezra. Great acting. I applaud you. What day is it today? April Fool's Day?"
"No, that was over a month ago."
"So you're serious then? You mean to say that Saul converted? What exactly do you mean by converted, and who told you this?"
Ezra took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "I mean he's a follower of The Way now. His travel companions told me.
"So what made Saul, of all people, convert? Some voice from the sky from God or something?"
"Actually.... yes."
"Boy, you're not making any sense. Do you have a fever or something?"
"No, Sir. I mean just what I told you. We've lost our best guy."
Simon stood up and began to pace. "Well this is great. Just great. How are we going to round up followers of The Way now? There's no one like Saul."
"If I may dare make a suggestion Sir, I think we may have an even bigger problem looming."
Simon stopped dead in his tracks and turned to look at Ezra. "What do you mean?"
"Well, think of Saul's charisma. His attitude. His leadership."
"Exactly. We've lost it."
"We've done more than lose it, Sir."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Not only have we lost it, but the enemy has gained it."
Simon sat back down. "You mean to say..."
"Yes. If Saul was famous among us, just think of what will happen if he believes he's speaking for God."

Thank you. God Bless~
Only kidding, of course. I just wanted to highlight how much I enjoyed the modern touch. It reads as if it could have been a conversation held during this last week; emphasizing the timelessness of conversion and faith.
Thank you.
Good dialogue and unique take on the story. Great job!
