Encouragement is…
The wind that whistles in my ear,
And lets me know He hears
My whispered cry.
The message of a butterfly,
When song takes flight,
That He who formed his wings
Can make my heart to sing again.
Not words alone, but softest sighs,
And a heart that cries with me.
A hug, a tear, a word of cheer
When joy departs and grief remains.
Encouragement is:
The tender touch of a hand.
A squeeze that won’t let go,
Until compassion flows
In an embrace that says, “I know, I know.”
A winter storm, and there
Among the drifts a sparrow flies
With little fare, and as I gaze
His voice reminds how much I’m worth.
Some time, some place, a quiet space,
Where none can find me reading there
A word in time to meet my need,
That gives me courage to believe.
Encouragement is:
To walk beside
And hold my hand,
Or say a word so seldom heard
When e’er I walk alone.
A heart that hurts with me
When I’m in pain.
A helping hand
That stretches past self’s boundaries.
Some act of love that starves self-pity.
A spark that flames a brighter fire.
