This end-of-day farewell,
Sunsets fiery glory
Lingers only for a spell.
Crimson strokes, the Artist’s touch,
Whose signature inspires
Each spectator witnessing
The dimming sky’s attire.
The sinking sun nods her head
To clouds just strolling by,
She winks her approval when
Colors decorate the sky.
The blazing palette fades
As the sunlight bids adieu,
Magenta ribbons pale
‘Fore the stars come shining through.
Of course other twilight skies
Will garner admiration,
Scarlet reds and golden hues--
God’s nightly exclamation.
Creation is God’s handiwork--
It’s splendor beyond measure,
My senses come alive and
My being fills with pleasure.
So when you chance a viewing
Of His Master’s gallery,
Be mindful they’re originals,
“For you,” He says, “from Me.”
And when you feel the beauty
To the point your soul is hushed,
Know that it’s God’s love for you
That’s dripping from His brush.
Does your imagination stir
When you ponder what awaits
Each heaven-bound resident
Within the Kingdom’s gates.

My favorite stanza was--
"The sinking sun nods her head
To clouds just strolling by,
She winks her approval when
Colors decorate the sky."
I could just see the sun nodding and winking! :)
Nice writing!
