He must have had in mind
To concentrate in her the core
For all of womankind.
He gave her loveliness of form
So she would be desired,
Then fruitfully would multiply
As His own Word required.
God gifted Eve with tenderness.
How else could she have tears?
This way she’d celebrate her joys
And demonstrate her fears.
A pleasure in things beautiful
Was added in good measure,
So nature’s graces she’d enjoy,
Adornments she would treasure.
Investing her with able mind,
God managed to arrange it
That she would have ability
If she had wish to change it.
He gave Eve strength that she would need,
As part of His great plan,
When He had chosen her to be
The helpmeet for His man.
To make her home a happy place
He then supplied the skill.
To be its loving center was
Her duty to fulfill.
Maternal instinct God bestowed
To guide Eve as a mother.
This was his crowning gift to her,
More rich than any other.
Creating woman from a man
By using one small bone,
God consecrated her with heart
To worship Him alone.
