In Mother’s arms recalls
The months he nestled near her heart
In warmly sheltered walls.
I know a rose can’t recollect
Her petals once were curled,
Until the sun reached out to touch,
And beauty was unfurled.
It’s true a tiger cannot think
About those early days
Of romping with his litter mates
In kitten-playful ways.
An oak tree can’t remember that
An acorn was his name,
Or dwell upon his younger years
When seedling he became.
While pondering abilities
Of living entities,
It came to mind: Almighty God
Created all of these.
But mankind, in God’s image made,
Was given memory,
So he could follow God’s commands
And live eternally.
Compassionately, Father God
Remembers man is frail,
And every promise that God made,
His Word will never fail.
And yet, with infinite recall,
Our Lord chose to forget
The sins we asked Him to forgive
Because He paid their debt.

Was given memory,
So he could follow God’s commands
And live eternally.... And this is the climax of the whole delightful poem. I am left with a lump in my throat, to read about what God Remembered to Forget, and about how we can remember! Love it! Thanks!...Helen
