Heartbreaking. You've captured Ms. Muncy's anguish expertly. Wonderful job.

Great "feel" to this this—the period, the language and the emotions. Very good.
Beautifully crafted.

Wonderful. I felt like I was inside her, feeling her pain. I loved the period of the piece, too.
Outstanding writing with powerful descriptions. You took us right into your MC's soul, and we shared her anguish with her, then her hope of mercy.
Oh wow. This is so amazing! The tiles, the repeating words, the way it all ties in with the title wow. You certainly gave a new meaning to the descriptions of pain and anguish, I liked the hope with the cross at the end, that was uplifting, even in the face of all of this. Nice job! ^_^
This was breathtaking, Dee. I actually stopped reading near the bottom because I didn't want to deal with what I felt was the finality of it all. But I made myself read on, got through it, and was happy for that silver lining, right from the Mercy Seat. Gread job!
Dee, I was drawn by this title. This story is almost personal, if you have ever read,'In Remembrance' then you would see.God is merciful, both in the release of death and His promises for our time here.I think that you capture both in this story.
I love it! God Bless. Elizabeth.
