Desperate resonation of hopelessness
When I’m counted as loss.
A tormenting despair suffocates me.
I long so much for it to be over.
Finished.
The burden is heavy.
The road is rough.
My flesh is dead.
Salvation seems just a flickering memory
In the distance,
The past.
God, why does it have to hurt so much?
“... he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood.”
Narcissistic actions, malevolent assault, embodied hate.
Searing convulsion of fury
When I’m betrayed by doting eyes.
A consuming anguish smothers me.
I long so much for it to be over.
Done.
I can’t go any further.
I’ve stumbled.
I’m alone.
Grace seems just a sputtering illusion
In the distance,
The past.
God, where do I turn when darkness triumphs?
“... they took his body down from the cross and wrapped it in a long linen cloth and laid it in a tomb ...”
Choking acceptance, erratic forgiveness, drying tears.
Fleeting embers of Holy flame
When I’m swaddled in rejuvenating tenderness.
An inflowing warmth sustains me.
I long so much for it to stay.
Forever.
Healing strength.
Soothing conciliation.
Unmerited rebirth.
Death is a receding specter
In the distance,
Beyond the cross.
God, can you yet forgive my unbelief?

Through the first stanza I see dark blues and blacks in broad, heavy, thick strokes across the canvas.
The second stanza is red, bright red at first, then turning to crimson, quick erratic strokes flashing across, a frenzy of slathering paint, then slower. Then lighter as the red turns darker.
The last stanza is yellow and green, light full strokes, filling in the gaps, bringing contrast and light to the previous colors. It is light and airy, comforting.
That you can use words to provoke my mind to see colors says a lot about your writing. This was a fun experience to read.
