In one mind
Battle for control…
Sheets of clouds darken the morning
heavy with burden
of a day
short on hours
before the first one passes;
I must burrow under my blanket
And ignore time.
***
Sleep soothes my inner core
as the clouds blanket the sun
and ease me into the day
with the gentle song of a robin;
Listen to the flute ensemble.
***
Rather, fill my ears with cotton;
The robins are too happy
For six AM.
***
Ahhh, feel the sun’s warmth;
She has shed her quilt too,
And I am ready.
***
Ahhh, draw the black drapes—
I am not.
***
But today could be the day
To soar to the moon,
To be the first
To touch what only
God has touched before.
***
When pigs fly!
***
They might.
***
What if I fail?
***
You have been called
To open a door to
The heavens,
Let the world
View a closer glimpse
Of His creation;
Just trust in Him
And go.
***
What if the dream
Is impossible?
***
Nothing is
Just one step
Proves it.
July 16, 1969 1:32 PM…
Apollo 11 defied gravity
At take-off…
Four days later, it landed
And mountains moved.
