It was a diabolical plan launched by the government years in the making; one that would have far-reaching effects whether it succeeded or failed. Like a vine of crawling ivy on university campus buildings, it would creep into America’s initial foundations—that had been made from the fabric of truth, religious freedom and equality—in quiet stealth, catching us unawares. One day, in hindsight, some of us would see how far we have missed the mark of the very freedoms we strove to make our heritage.

We are a nation of egocentric excesses. Instant self-gratification, comfort, and personal happiness are our goals, many times at any cost. As with any modern day discovery, the media can be used for good as well as a

Recipe for Evil.

Ingredients needed:

Undermined family unit. Skew it with immoral values until the boundary lines between right and wrong are smudged into smoky caverns of gray, like a London fog permeating through the streets of our souls.

Bombarded airwaves. Create cunning, deliberate programming that subtly changes what behaviors are acceptable, dressed in the guise of equal rights and tolerance. Broadcast immorality through smutty sit-coms, foul language and gory violence through movies. Until we are brainwashed into thinking that most people lie, everyone cheats, virgins and drug-free teens are an abnormality, the majority of us cuss and swear and hop into bed with anyone—including those of the same sex—regardless of sacred marriage vows or the biblical concepts upon which this country was founded.

Cheapened entertainment. Eliminate that which is pure and good, publishing what is perverted to infiltrate our consciences and insidiously subvert our ethical standards until we are convinced that these exemplify the majority—instead of the minority they actually represent.

Captured children. Encourage our children to play video games by the hour, max out their texting and cell phone minutes, and communicate with friends out in cyberspace instead of relating to those physically present around them. Promote computers, the internet and television to be our babysitters and convince us that we can’t understand why Johnny is failing in school, acting out, or cutting himself for attention.

The American dream. Portray double-income families as a necessity in this age, labeling the old-fashioned stay-at-home mother as uneducated, unenlightened and lazy. Disregard the possibilities of sacrificing the present generation’s “better-than-their-parents” mentality and the accompanying amenities for a simpler lifestyle that prizes relationships and service over fame and fortune. Convince us that transient wealth and fleeting happiness and the external trump our internal, God-given spiritual compasses.

Controlled education. Force our school teachers to advocate mandated materials on issues previously taught by parents. Teach us to depend on the government for hand-outs, for programs we can abuse, and for benefits we don’t really need.

Compromised leaders. Wine and dine political candidates into the arena with promises of contributions and monetary support for their agendas and destroy unfavorable ones with false accusations and fabrications of the truth.

Altered truth. Call murdered unborn babies terminated pregnancy fetuses so their mothers don’t realize what they are doing. Develop medical programs that will ultimately promote genocide, concealing its termination of the elderly or unwanted citizens through a network of bureaucratic loopholes and thousands of pages of legalese and label it “health care reform,” the world’s worst report of nonsense ever created. Claim ignorance about drilling for our own oil to curtail rising gasoline prices and bow to lobbyists and environmentalists who use scare tactics to justify their agendas.

Blend together the first two ingredients with a dash of impurity. Stir in the cheapened entertainment, adding the captured children one at a time.

Sift together the American dream, the controlled education, and the compromised leaders and simmer over the open flame of hostility and bias. Cream this mixture into the vat of altered truth, beating together with the first ingredients until frothy and stiff.

Drain off the cream of wisdom and discernment and roll batter into baking pan well-greased with arrogance and dusted with pride.

Bake in the cradle of false security at the highest degree of narcissistic complacency for two to four decades.

Serve finished preparation topped with self-indulgence. Serves all who will sell their birthright for a taste.
