A game of hide and seek
When rosebuds rush to hide themselves,
And buttercups don’t peek.
The monkeys love to play this game.
They run and hide with ease
By climbing to the highest part
Of tall and leafy trees.
As bunnies lie behind the shrubs,
The dog with nose in air
Can sense the smell they can‘t obscure
And chases them from there.
The golden sun might hide behind
Some fleecy clouds of white,
But when they float away from him,
They leave him in plain sight.
Seen frolicking from limb to limb,
The squirrels are having fun,
Pursuing and discovering
Until the day is done.
The bees secrete themselves inside
A fluffy flower’s fuzz.
Although they seem invisible,
One listens for their buzz.
The fish dive down beneath the waves
To search for secret places.
They think they’re hid until they’re found
By minnows holding races.
Creation’s final crowning gift,
The children, shout with glee,
“Aha, I caught you; now you’re it.
You never will find me!”
As God above is looking down
And watching all the while,
I wonder when He sees His world,
Does it cause Him to smile?
