this is what greed does
insatiable
avaricious
possessed by possession
is the hallmark
of covetousness
A greedy man is he
give him an inch
he’ll ask for a yard
give him a yard
he’ll ask for a mile
never contended is his advice
Never will greed satisfy
The more I have
the more I want
at the end
I own everything
of nothing
trying to fill
a bottomless void
If I give to others
It will come back a full amount
packed down,
shaken together
and spilling over into my lap
How I treat others
is how I will be treated
Embrace generosity
there’s enough for me and family
share what I have
with those in need
to defeat greed
Sow in me the seed of kindness
let it germinate and propagate
Working behind the scenes
God will surely provide
He’s no man’s debtor
Trust Him to sort out the impossible
though invisible ,let Him surprise
it’s more blessed
to give than to take
To love is to give
giving gives shape to love
give away life
life soon returns
not returning merely
but with bonuses
and blessings
Most generous God
who loves and gave me
so undeserved
Your Only Son
for my sins
what infinite goodness
and graciousness
