The light turned red and I began to drive forward, “Grandma, grandma, there’s more.” Trying to stay focused on my driving but glancing to the side I could not believe what we were seeing. One, two, three massive groups ….no, there were more and more and more. One group after another flying in formation behind the group in front of it.
We chatted excitedly questioning ourselves about the possible number of birds and the wonder of their God-given instinct to migrate south.
“Do you think it’s a million?” she asked. Usually that number from a child would be way exaggerated, but, in the fifteen minutes or so that the birds flew past us and continued their journey I began to believe she might be right.
The wonder of God’s creation of land, sea and air animals. Never-ending learning revelations.

“I think I want to go outside and take some pictures,” spoke our college-age daughter.
“I’ll go with you, if you like. We can make some snow angels.”
The lightly falling snow was no surprise. Already schools, business’ and even the State of Tennessee had closed most government offices. It was not usual to have a snow like this. Here.
With that we began the hunt for clothes to wear to keep us warm.
I was ready first and stepped out onto the front porch to wait for her. The railing was covered with three inches of snow. I was hoping for it to be wet. It would be fun to build a snowman, or throw a snowball at our daughter who was always up for some fun.
As I reached for the snow, I saw it was so powdery just the movement of my hand towards it caused it to blow off to the side of the rail and lightly drift to the ground below.
Memories of snow play as a child in Minnesota made me lean down with my face close to the soft snow for an investigative look. Yes. There it was.
Displayed before me were tiny white flakes, each individually designed. My mind was blown again as it often was as a child when I would try to find two snowflakes that looked alike. I never could.
The wonder of each unique snowflake a part of God’s Intelligent design for planet Earth. Incredibly amazing.

“It’s a girl.” “It’s a boy.” I’ve heard that in a personal way 30 times in my life as the arrival of our six own children or 24 grandchildren was announced.
As each child was placed in my arms upon my first introduction to them, I began the cuddle, the snuggle, the inspection of the beauty of their little bodies. Adoration and words of praise to our Heavenly Father were always silently spoken.
I couldn’t help but wonder at the design of each child. Nine months. Nine short months from conception to birth. Each child came with all physical necessary parts to grow and sustain life here on earth. Each child came with healthy mind and spirit.
As the days of life continued for each child, the personality, the gifts and talents, their strengths and weaknesses would be revealed.
The wonder of the gift of a child. A Masterpiece created to Glorify God. Sheer delight.

Ah, but the greatest wonder of all. A man, woman, child broken and wounded by sin. Maybe the sin of others, incapacitated by direct wounds of them. Or maybe it’s their own sin. Tangled up in the guilt and shame that comes from such broken places of feeling unloved, unworthy, unreachable. Unable by their own resources to see, to think, or to hope for a life different than the past and the present.
Introduced to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World. Accepting of and obedient to the gospel message. Forgiven and redeemed by his blood. Now, that’s a wonder to behold.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, old has gone, new is here.”
Bored? Impossible! Our God has given us too many created beautiful things to wonder and marvel at.
