You’ve given
Like a deer from a parched land
scorched by human depravity
thirsting after the brook
I desire to drink
from the depths
of the crystal clear stream
of infinite insight and wisdom
I draw inspiration and motivation
more precious than silver and gold
to live life to its fullest
Yes, Your word is sweeter
than the honeycomb
nourishing my feeble heart and weary soul
I love to hear Your familiar
and soothing voice
so comforting and uplifting
flowing out from Your Living Word
How I yearn to imbibe
Your history, poetry, story,
philosophy, prophecy and theology
from this rich source
Above all, I have found
the way, the truth and the life
And really delighted
to know that my name
too is found in the Book of Life
Your word brings comfort, consolation
and conviction but not condemnation
Such knowledge is too wonderful
and excellent that I cannot attain
So help me listen to You more carefully,
and more attentively that I may follow
You more closely and obey You more joyfully
