What a slow Tuesday!
As, from deep slumber, I woke,
My eyelids reluctant to open,
Legs unable to obey usual rules,
Defiantly, my head dictated terms.
Journey to the loos,
Quickly negotiated,
Took longer than average!
Taps dripped on and on,
As I prayed my norms
Until day’s duty peacefully ended.
At me my wardrobe I stared
As if accusing me of some rights
Daily violated against them.
What a chore to open!
“No – don’t touch any of us!”
Almost falling backwards,
I wondered what Eden serpent
Was about to suggest.
“Did God say were clothes…?”
“No”, was quick to come.
Insisting, I dressed up.
How illusory life can be?
All around dining area,
All I decried was emptiness.
Where are years of fullness…
Wife, kids, sumptuousness?
“Go back to bed!”
“No”, I answered.
As I drove out,
To pick my driving permit,
I felt betrayed by biology.
“Stand warned…!
After biology, its technology…!”
At speedometer, I gazed.
Then, fuel, temperature gauge…
All looked fine.
Instantly, rain came.
Conspiring with nature around me,
This day’s vicissitudes-
Had blinded me from seeing the signs.
Experiencing those ‘dogs and cats’,
Left me totally confused.
For two hours torrents of rain-
Pounded my Subaru,
Until I stopped seeing, thinking or driving.
The day’s debate was over:
Biology, nature and technology stopped.
Finally, torrential rains stopped.
With cold feet, heart and mind,
And without a driving permit,
I drove back home.
As I did so, I saw God…
In the rain, wind, skies, trees…
Psalm 139:1-24.

The unconscious fear exploded violently every where I looked.
But there was apparent peace at the end.
