He stands straight and tall. He does not hide his faith; he boldly lives it out in his life. The winds of sin and worldliness do not break his stance. He is strong in the Word and its truth.
He is not perfect. He bears the scars of both physical and emotional loss. Yet he carries these scars with grace and gratitude, giving thanks to God for his imperfections. He relies on the Lord to prune the branches in his life that bear no fruit. He accepts his scars as he grows in the direction God intends.
His roots grow deep. They are grounded in loving family relationships, friendships and faith. He is well versed in scripture and eager to share an encouraging word. He also has an ear that is ready and willing to listen to the life stories of others, learning from them and deepening his experiences.
“He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” Psalm 1:3 (NIV)
