She jumps in the shower, to wash away the dread, slips on a toy, and hits her head.
Grumbling and groaning she pretends not to care, but inside she’s filled with anger and despair.
The kids are fighting and have to be fed; who cares anyway….. if she doesn’t make the bed!
She grabs the cereal, and spills the milk, right down the middle of her blouse made of silk.
“Oh no, not again today, please tell me, there’s a better way.”
She runs up the stairs and throws off the blouse; thrashes and searches for something else to wear.
She grabs a shirt and brushes her hair; mixed and matched and getting nowhere.
She drops her head and counts to ten, “I’ve had it,” she shouts, “I’m at my wit’s end!
Day after day, it seems to never end, problems and struggles that I can’t mend.”
“My child, my child,” the Savior said, “Have you forgotten how to pray?
Why haven’t you called on me or ask for my help today.
I’ll never leave you nor forsake you; I’m here through it all,
I’m your God, and for me, nothing is too big or too small.
Just start each day with me on your mind, don’t get ahead, and don’t lag behind.
Just walk with me daily, side by side, count your blessings, and take the rest in stride.”
She heard his voice and the anger melted away; she bowed her head and began to pray.
“Thank you, Lord, thank you for this day, and with you, Lord, there is a better way!”
