It seemed no matter what she did or didn’t do, she was never happy or at peace with anything or anyone…..especially herself.
Her relationship with her family members was strained; she had very few friends; and her involvements with the opposite sex had all been disasters.
She was even now utterly and helplessly alone and lived in total isolation and constant torment. The war raged within her and was rooted into the very depths of her soul, and the hopelessness was embedded deep. She was so weary and tired of fighting, and just could not seem to find a way out. Now, she was ready to give up and end the war.

Destiny stood in front of the full length mirror. Her long brown hair was mangled and hadn’t been washed in several days. Her clothes fit loosely over her slim body and her skin was pale and clammy.
“Why not just end it all,” she said, “Life is just not worth living anymore.”
She picked up her keys and left the house without even bothering to lock the front door. She walked slowly to her car, got in, and started the engine. She drove and drove with no specific destination in mind and wasn’t even aware of her surroundings. Thoughts of suicide rambled through her head and shut out all other reasonable and logical choices.
Darkness set in and Destiny ended up on an old dirt road, right in the middle of nowhere. It started raining and she watched a bolt of lightning flash through the sky. Thunder boomed and the torrential downpour made it very difficult to see even a few yards in front of her.
Becoming aware, she let up on the gas, lightly touched the brakes, and dimmed the lights. She couldn’t make out the single word on the road sign just ahead but strained until the word came into focus. It read: DEADEND. She stopped and stared at the sign and the concrete wall standing at the end of the tee in the road.
“Which way do I go,” she whispered…….which way?”
“Straight ahead,” a loud voice proclaimed, “Just push the gas and hit the wall.”
Destiny arched back in her seat, flailed her arms up over her head, and gasped. She trembled and her heart pounded.
“NO,” the small still voice said, “No, Destiny, your life is just beginning. I am the way, the truth, and the life. Just come unto me and trust me. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end!”
Destiny jerked up and placed her hands back on the steering wheel. She gripped the wheel so tightly, her knuckles turned white.
“Is that you God?” she said, “Is it really you?”
“Yes,” HE said, “It’s me, your Lord and Savior, and I love you so much Destiny. I died for you, and I have plans for your life that you cannot even imagine!”
Destiny sat stunned.
“It’s too late,” the loud voice said, “You know what you’ve done.”
“I know!” Destiny shouted, “I know, but I can’t go on like this anymore.”
“That’s why I told you to hit the wall and just end it all.”
“No,” she screamed, “No, just leave me alone!”
“SATAN!” Jesus said, “Leave her alone, NOW. You have lost this battle. Destiny belongs to me and has from the beginning of time. I created her, and I have known her from the day she was conceived and still in her mother’s womb.”
Destiny knew there was no turning back now. She had to make a decision……life or death? She dropped her head in her hands and sobbed. “I don’t know what to do, Lord,” she cried, “Please, please help me.”
“Today is the day of salvation, Destiny. Come unto me and I will give you rest.”
“Yes, Lord,” she said, “Yes. I’m so sorry, please forgive me!”
Jesus reached down out of heaven, wrapped Destiny in his arms, and filled her with a peace like she had never known.
“It's okay,” Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven; now go and sin no more.”
“Thank you Jesus,” she said, “Thank you!”
