minutes pass as a stagnated wind,
endless hours are spent in agony,
solitude seemingly comes to no end.
Solitude seemingly comes to no end,
loneliness crawls without a timing,
echoes of trauma come without cease,
memories flash, soundless and miming.
Memories flash, soundless and miming,
yesterday calls a conscience to bear,
mournful minds cannot be released,
cerebral dreams mouths cannot share.
Cerebral dreams mouths cannot share,
spinning and turning, endless in sight,
complexities fill a deep blackest hole,
depression has come to sleep tonight.
Depression has come to sleep tonight,
sinking in mire all memories of joy,
bogging the mind in muddy waters,
rivers of ruin to come to drown and destroy.
Rivers of ruin to come to drown and destroy,
while breaths of the soul sing sweetly a song,
seek forgiveness for all dreadful deeds,
prayer brings the peace to right a wrong.
Prayer brings the peace to right a wrong,
each time an evil attempts to invade,
God shoulders every fretful feeling,
With endless grace His will is made.
With endless grace His will is made,
arms open wide and mercy mending,
rest in his hands with faith forever,
seek the refuge His spirit is lending.
Seek the refuge His spirit is lending,
hide in the shelter His presence gives,
echo these words in your heart tonight,
the endless Truth, He lives! He lives!

It's awesome to know that when "Depression has come to sleep tonight," we can "seek the refuge His spirit is lending."
A well crafted poem and a very memorable psalm.
It grabbed me from the start and gripped me all the way through. Possibly because I'm so familiar with the subject matter from personal experiences. And know a smidgen of your story.
Bless you! I can see a definite improvement in your poetry!
" minutes pass as a stagnated wind," - Love it!
The last stanza is a perfect finish for this emotion-packed
poem that is filled with pathos AND hope.
Superb job, Lynn!
This entire entry completely blew me away. Amazing piece of work here...I felt this poem and it moved me more than I can express.
Congratulations on this magnificent masterpiece...and congratulations on "moving up to Masters" --you are beyond ready!
God bless you Lynn~
On the other hand, if you are having trouble sleeping, lie along the edge of the mattress - and you'll drop off in no time!!!!
Great work.
Excellent, excellent, indeed.
