Genesee Ann Lowrie came into this world without a whimper. Her big, brown, gorgeous eyes seemed to drink in the world around her. She seldom cried as a baby and seemed very content to be here.
When she was old enough to stand in a chair at the dinner table she would sneak peas off of her plate and place them into the grownups glasses of ice tea. She still loves to make us laugh in that same manner today, always playing little pranks on us.
These days she smiles constantly and always looks as if she holds the secret to life. Her concern for others well being is evident. If someone she loves is sick, she hugs them with abandon.
Her long, dark hair curls in layers down to her waist. Her thick eyelashes compliment the merriment in her eyes. She does not know how beautiful she is.
Her smile can light up a room. She has presence and owns whatever space she walks in. She is very smart and her teachers adore her. Strangers smile at her in public, and when she smiles back they seem to melt into a puddle. They want to know her.
She loves life and all of God's creations. A simple leaf is a beautiful object to her. Once a fly flew into her cereal and milk at a local Waffle House and she worried about it drowning. A dead bird on the sidewalk will bring tears to her eyes. Butterflies have been known to light on her fingers.
Genesee can sing and dance with the greatest of ease. She loves computer games and coloring books. She never talks back and is very obedient, though she might be a tad spoiled because most people have a hard time saying no to her.
Yes, God blessed this child. I don't know what plans He has for her in the future. I can only pray she never loses the special qualities He gave her and that the disappointments that are certain to come her way in life do not change her beautiful heart.
Genesee is six years old, the world is her oyster, and Jesus Christ is her Savior. She definitely has something extra.

I smiled really wide about the fly and she hoped it wouldn't drown. She reminds me of me as a child where animals were concerned (still to this day!).
Thank you for this well written story that was so refreshing and touched my heart with love.
Happy Birthday Genesee Ann Lowrie!! May God bless you all the days of your life.
God bless~
