“Awake”, he whispered close to her heart.
Seeker sighed and changed positions. She heard the bidding to arouse but among the din of discordant sounds and transient images of Soul Realm, it was but a still small voice. Soon it faded from her awareness as the illusions of mind swallowed her as though they were reality. She settled in Soul Realm because it buffered her from the nothingness she felt or the pain she experienced. There seemed to be no in-between; either she was numb or she was in excruciating emotional pain. She longed to be and to have a sense of wellness. She’d heard another realm existed, but she languished in Soul Realm. She slumbered there because no one had ever awakened her.
Unbeknownst to her, the longing for life she had was a heart cry that reached the other realm. That’s why Truth now stood over her, near her heart, which was the gateway both into and out of Soul Realm. He had been dispatched by the one who was and is and is to come, the very King of the Realm of Love.
“Awake. You’ve slumbered far too long,” Truth spoke again, this time more insistent and slightly louder.
Only slightly louder but still the change in the rhythm and tone of his voice affected the sights and sounds in Soul Realm that influenced Seeker. The distorted images coalesced into a portrait brilliant with light and vibrant color. She awakened and gazed into the eyes of this portrait, Truth, who embraced her and then set her upon a large rock. The cacophony settled into symphonic strands of a song she’d never heard. Slowly, her heavy limbs began to move guided by the rhythm of the song; her steps were ordered and she began to dance. Kindness flickered in Truth’s eyes as she responded to the beat and a peal of laughter like rivers of water escaped Seeker’s lips. It was Truth who had uttered this sound that now flowed from her.
Soon Truth laid his hand upon her shoulder to stop the dance. Tenderly, he said, “Now, it’s time to begin your journey.”
“Journey,” she asked with wide-eyed wonder?
“Yes. It’s time for you to make your home in a place different from Soul Realm.” Truth explained.
“Where am I going?”
“You are going to the city of the great king.”
“How will I find the path?”
“Listen for the Song of the Ages, the song that guided your feet in the dance of redemption. Each note is a stepping stone, each measure a milestone along the path. The Ancient of Days composed it before time began and ere Soul Realm was founded by the prideful one. Just as the rhythm guided your feet in the dance, it will navigate your journey. Listen for it. Most of all, feel peace pulsating beneath your feet. Let the rhyme and reason of grace pull the coach of faith that will be your conveyance to the City of Love and Joy, the city of the great king.”
”Take up your load, now, and begin. It is a light burden that you will carry, but it contains everything that you need for your new life. As you travel, you’ll face hindrances and discouragement, but you’ll also meet many other sojourners along the way. Remember, bear one another’s burdens. Most of all, as you go, lift your voice in the words of the Song of Life, this will produce the joy that is the strength that will sustain you.
