WE ARE NEVER ALONE... WHEN GOD GAVE US A FAITHFUL MAMA
SUNRISE PETITION
“Good Morning Father God,
Your sunrise is so bright Your sky so blue,
I can see Your Glory shining through,
Walk with me this day,
Guide my thoughts, my feet along the way,
Give me a task that only I can do,
Help me to be brave and strong,
And to Your word be true.
Teach me to love, teach me to share,
Grow in me the patience to stay in Your care,
And as daily slowness comes along
Help me remember…always remember
To whom I belong...
Good Morning Father God!”
Here is a glorious Prayer…penned by the late Berthy Elizabeth Lamar,
the gifted Mom, for all her beloved children to enjoy.
In this prayer we can see one good mother, invoking God’s help at sunrise. A dutiful and conscientious person praying to be always a devoted mother, in God’ great will in spite of health, her own home…and through all the energy-drained days of her life.
Dear friends: In Philippians 4:8 NIV-we read: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable---if anything is excellent or praiseworthy---think about such things”.
Kindly allow me to say, that in these hard days, it is more rewarding for us all, to attempt to obey the gracious command in this beautiful passage of the Bible.
Let us search and find the sacrificial value in our mothers’ immense love given to us from God. Definitely this affection and care are lavished unconditionally on most of us; who are among the many thousands celebrating Mother’s Day this week. May our Lord’s glorious blessings rest upon all mothers in the whole Universe-- to receive the great recognition and appreciation from their beloved children.
In fact, there is so much to be learnt and to be trained for, within the arms of a loving Mama. Simply look at a little girl, holding her doll. Watch her clearly. Just observe her. See how she holds her doll close to her heart.
Is this not a mother’s hidden instinct in disguise? Is this not a copy from the Lord’s love shed upon us in this world to give us peace? Is this not a photocopy of the exact emotions of a mother???
Is this not Motherhood displayed, through what we, as parents teach our children? Then they “copy and paste” it on their dolls when they get the chance to do so?...
Oh please say with me-“Amen to that… Halleluia.”
I praise God for my still sparkling memory. I magnify our Lord for the following recollections from my own life. I do cherish the sweetest examples I learnt from Juliette---my own Mom.
Every time we received guests at home, she fixed the last touches to our hair and dresses. She then almost sang those tender lessons to my two sisters and me; no matter what state she was in. She was ever ready to give us warm hugs and lessons of support to teach us.
Mother used to say:
“My children, always look around you to hear the encouraging voice of Jesus. Especially now with our visitors. Maybe there is a dire need that is hidden from you, which they are too timid to share. The Holy Spirit will whisper it in your own hearts, to point it openly for God’s glory, while the visitors are still around with us.”
Friends, let us always remember that a mother’s arms are made of “God’s tenderness” that can and may be stamped forever into a child’s faith and personality personality. AMEN
