Topic: Download/Upload (11/17/11)
So many things are downloaded into our brains, everything we see around us in all types of formats effect us one way or another, but the important thing to decipher, much like a computer code, is what is actually worthy of our attention.

There are so many issues in the world around us, that beg for us to lend to their cause. Sometimes we can get so overwhelmed by it all that every e-mail that does not require our personal attention is deleted, but we can make a difference.

Just at the moment in Australia, there are so many issue brought constantly to our attention, and while they are important, it is far too easy to switch off. Topics like is gay marriage going to be passed in parliament in the next week or two? What is the current temperature of support for Israel in the community? What is happening with asylum seekers and the boat people? These issues may not affect you currently if you live elsewhere, but I can guarantee that there are issues that do.

Everything we see and hear is downloaded to the super-wires in our brain, but we have choice of what to do with it next. Is it to be filed somewhere to be referenced one day in the far distant future, deleted for the recycled bin or as writers, can we use our gift to interject a little light of Godly perspective and instead of constantly downloading, instead upload something decent into the world of media?

We must use discernment both in what to respond to, what to upload and how; but perhaps we can make a little difference in the sea of words and pictures out there, that rise in waves, flooding our little brains with information that make our eyes flash with passion, indifference or a complete stoppage.

Nicely done. This short piece was clever and honest in what is happening in our world. There is truth to what was written-we need to be mindful of what we "download and upload."

Good point of "circumstances" affect some directly and other non directly, however as a "whole" we should be aware at all times.

I enjoyed this and can hardly believe I am the first to comment.

Oh, I really enjoyed this piece. It flowed smoothly, and so succinctly you said what you needed to say (which, by the way, drove your point in deep).

Much truth about what you say in your writing. We certainly need to filter what we read and what we send to others to read. Thanks for sharing this.
