Bill Timer: Yes, I am. Seems I’m always in second place when it comes to my brother. But I’m an old hand at this, it happens all the time.
CM: What got you into the watch business?
BT: Well, I had time on my hand; actually it was on my wrist.
CM: Okay…
BT: Actually, I have been fascinated by the subject of time all my live and when my brother started talking to be about how time can run slower the faster you go or the closer you are to a source of gravity I decided to spend some more time giving it a second look.
CM: You are CEO of Space Watches, Inc., how are your watches different from any other time piece?
BT: Well, for instance they have an unlimited guarantee; it’s not a limited time thing.
CM: You mean you will guarantee them forever?
BT: ‘Til the end of time.
CM: How can that be? Eternity is a long time. Do you expect your company to be around that long?
BT: Oh, absolutely not.
CM: Are you telling us you are giving a false guarantee?
BT: Our guarantee is good. Like I said, ‘til the end of time.
CM: Oh, I see what you’re saying. As long as the watch is keeping time, it’s guaranteed.
BT: If the watch stops, that it breaks for any reason, we will fix it or replace it at no charge.
CM: Now I am confused.
BT: Miss Miner, please understand that time is really a dimension, the same as up and down, forward and backwards, and sideways. Time, as Einstein put it, is the fourth dimension. He noted that the universe is not in time but time is in the universe. If the universe ceased to exist, so would time.
CM: I remember my high school physic teacher mentioning that. But how does that relate to you watch guarantee?
BT: It’s good until the end of time. When the Lord comes back, and He will, time for us will be no more. There will not be a need for watches or trying to keep time. So I’m not worried about having to replace or repair any watches after that.
CM: But what about the people who don’t make it to heaven?
BT: Well, they should worry, that’s for sure! They will be in hell for eternity and I doubt if they will need one of my watches there. One minute will seem like an eternity to them. I doubt if they will be wanting to look at a watch very often to see how much time has lassed.
CM: I surely understand that. Well, looking at my new Space Watch, that’s all the time we have today. Can we have you back again Mr. Timer?
BT: Any time. Thank you.
CM: And thank you. Celestial Miner here for Galaxy Radio signing off.
