God's grace is amazing. This is a great lesson as well, especially now-a-days it seems many people expect what they want instantaneously. It's a great message that sometimes we just have to wait and pray. God will answer when the time is right.

I love how this story unfolds. You tell it with brutal honesty which gives a glimpse into the true human heart. Some of your phrases and word choices make it comical too, because we (women) can all relate.

Great story. It was well written -flowing well. As far as the hissy is concerned -I have been there done that. Sort of an opps moment hey.

Lovely writing and a strong message to leave things in God's hands once we've prayed. Well done!

Great story!
Boy do I relate! You really caught it well: the atmosphere, the dialog, the slamming around the kitchen (you must have been hiding out in my kitchen a few years). Very well done!
Brenda, congrats on placing 7th!

Loved your "bonus prayer list". So often I don't get around to praying for things I'm not desperate for or that are not in crisis. Some really good description also. I especially liked the line "Our weekly grocery budget was $30, and if it ever went over that by even a few cents, I’d always put something back." An excellent summary line for a poverty lifestyle.
