“What is your favorite color?” Pam asked her best friend, Kate.
“Oh, that is really easy,” Kate didn’t hesitate.
“I love the color purple. It makes me want to sing.”
“Purple jelly beans are best! That is my favorite thing!”
“Not me! I love bright orange.” Fran blurted out her thoughts.
“Orange popsicles are great and orange polka dots.”
Roberta turned her nose up and gave her head a shake.
“Why, brown is the best color! Like chocolate brownie cake!”
The recess bell was ringing and soon all were in line.
Kate said “Pam, tell your color! I already said mine.”
Pam whispered, “Well, I’ll tell you, my favorite color’s white.”
“I love white fuzzy kittens and marshmallow delight.”
The third grade class was waiting; their favorite class had come.
“Take out your crayons, students.” commanded Mrs. Plumb.
The students loved their art class and shrieked out their delight.
Pam smiled and took a paper, and colored it all white.
Softly Mrs. Plumb approached and looked at Pam’s design.
She gently touched her shoulder and said it looked just fine.
“Did I use the right color?” Pam asked and was relieved
When Mrs. Plumb praised her work and all she had achieved.
Pam moved her little fingers across her work of art.
As she did her eyes lit up - she saw it with her heart.
For Pam could not see colors; Pam was completely blind.
Her friends told her of colors and these danced in her mind.
Pam loved to talk of colors; she quickly would reveal,
“White is my favorite color – a color I can feel.”
“White is soft and oh so smooth, just like a cotton ball.”
And white is clean and spotless, no dirt in it at all.”
“That is what I love the most, to know that I am clean.”
“White means I am forgiven and though I’ve never seen,”
“I feel white inside my heart, for Jesus made me right.
Someday I will see Jesus and His robes will be white!”
