You don’t have to be so mean.
Give Steve a break!
I mean, what all did he take?
A pack of greens..
That’s what he chose, of all things.
He took no beer,
And that’s something to cheer.
It’s been a month…
Oh yes, October the tenth
Since he took bread
And gave it to Grandpa Ned.
His teachers say
He’s trying every day.
It’s hard, you know…
With his grandparents in tow.
You were a teen…
Give him a break Sheriff Green.
Grandma, Grandpa…
They’re both living in the raw.
Times our now tough,
And what he’s done is small stuff.
He has a dream…
So don’t make him swim upstream.
When Steve’s Dad died,
We remained on the far side.
It is now time…
Steve wasn’t part of the crime.
It was his mom
Who killed his Dad with a bomb.
Give him a break.
You’re right…umpteenth…
But he is still very *greenth.
*The state, or quality of being green. (Definition in the 1913 Webster Dictionary)
