When clay lay dormant at the Potter's feet
Eyes perfect in design could not yet see.
God's own breath blew right in then
And eyes awoke, 'seeing' signed in.
Of all the sights Adam did behold
Seeing God's own face captured Adam's soul.
Through brightest day, in darkest night,
The Potter's way directed clay's true sight.
Adamic clay no other way could live,
But to step right out, all his trust to give.
For clay first knew ne'er to walk by sight
Faith-Seeing paved the Potter's path of light.
Into this realm of sweet Edenic bliss
Trouble came riding on a serpent's hiss.
Knowledge was sought, not known by clay before,
And sight-seeing walked through doubt's open door.
That tree looked good; the fruit smelled so sweet.
Faith-seeing tasted now its first defeat.
With pleasure's bite bitter juice did run;
Little did they know the fight had just begun.
Though sight-seeing grew then in Adamic clay
It wasn't planted there in the 'good' of day.
Before juice ran from that forbidden bite
Adam knew faith-seeing as his soul’s delight.
Now the battle raged on through those days of yore
‘Til it stands today at your own soul’s door.
If of sight-seeing’s pathway you chose to partake
You must surely understand it’s faith’s way you forsake.
You see, the way of seeing is left for you to choose.
But know if sight-seeing wins, there’s so much to lose.
Those moments sight-seeing looks like your way to peace
Take another look, it’s but a temporal lease.
When you find yourself standin’ in front of Eden’s tree
And sight-seeing wants your true compass to be
Remember the Potter and that Edenic clay,
Put sight-seeing to rest, that faith may guard your way.
