SOLID/HAIL: HARD TRUTH [WORD/REVELATION]
Isa 28:16-17
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail [hard truth] shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters [truth] shall overflow [wash away] the hiding place [disguise].
Have you ever known hard balls of ice to sweep away lies? What dispels lies is Truth, and according to Is 28:17 it is as hail or hard truth. Hail is symbolic of hard truth just as soft snow is the symbol for righteousness and purity Ps 51:7, Mk 9:3. Look at as well in Job:
Job 38:22-27
22 Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow [righteousness, purity]? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail [hard truth],
23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
In Job we see poetic prose of snow and hail together as bringing righteousness through hard truth in a time of affliction or calamity. Remember the saying that the afflicted find comfort in Truth while the comfortable are afflicted of it. You can see this clearly in the next Scripture:
Revelation 16:21 And there fell upon men [professed Christians] a great hail [overflowing scourge of hard truths] out of heaven [the spiritual controlling realm], every stone [each hard truth] about the weight of a talent [Matt 25:14-29 parable of talents/word ministered given and used or not]: and men [nominal Christians] blasphemed [denounced] God because of the plague of the hail [affliction caused by hard truths]; for the plague [affliction] thereof was exceeding great."
LIQUID/WATER: WORD OF GOD [LOGOS]
We are cleansed by the washing of the water by the Word [Eph 5:26] and all who drink it in will never thirst again [John 4:14]. Hail melts into water, which is more easily drunk. What seemed hard at first is now more agreeable or acceptable.
VAPOR/WATER: WORD BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD [RHEMA]
From hard hail to soft water to having things heated up in the enthusiasm and excitement of the Holy Vapor or Spirit, John 4:23-24, 16:13. The Word is still Word in any form.
Jesus, Himself came as hail. He was very hard Truth to the religious leaders, and they felt afflicted of Him. Jesus’ Words were comfort for the afflicted and they were drawn to Him. Today we can more readily accept Jesus’ Words as water because we have let the hail melt over the years into acceptance, but hail [hard truth] will be poured out in end times, and who can abide it at its outpouring?
What some regard as afflicting hail others will see as life and cling to it. During the Great Revival in early American colonies, many Christian evangelists were cast out of their churches to preach in the open air, because they came to believe in a more personal relationship with Jesus. While this afflicted the religious church government, the people were starved to hear more and were revived.
What will our pastors; teachers and preachers do with revelation’s door opening up. Remember Daniel was told to seal up the revelation for an age of progress to come. As it opens will it be accepted? Jesus is soon coming and we need not be afraid to tell it:
Matt 28:9-10
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, ALL HAIL. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, BE NOT AFRAID: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
I may just be stretching the symbolism a bit on that Scripture, but God seemed to think it humorous when I told Him…or was it His humor…hmmm.
So just as Jesus says, “All hail, Be not afraid!”
