Then there came grass and herbs and fruit trees that were capable of reproducing themselves. God saw and said this is good. Then He put lights in the sky, one for day, the sun, and one for night, the moon. Again, He expressed that this was good. The stars were an added expression of the greatness.
So came the great whales and the fish and flying fowls with the command to be fruitful and multiply. Then the cattle, creeping things and God saw that it was good. Then He said, “Let us make man after our likeness and give them dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, the cattle and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.
Yea! Then came man formed of the dust of the ground and God breathed the breath of life into his nostrils. Man became a living soul. God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. He gave him commands about everything especially the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. Stay away from it!
After giving him this command, God decided that man needed an help meet. To most of us that term is a little weird. It surely means wife. But, before she was made, God took Adam and gave him the awesome job of naming all the creatures that He had made. The Bible says that God brought them to Adam to see what he would call them and Adam gave names to all cattle, fowls, beast of field.
Thus came Eve into God's plan. I would like to know how much time passed after her appearance that the serpent decided to accost her. He apparently had already had time to study her demeanor, her behavior or her subtle ways and independence. Is this the beginning or the end?
How many things are in our lives that we behold as to how good they look? Deciding upon our investigation how our life would change with that particular thing. How long does it take the serpent to talk us into changing our prior determination to partake of the forbidden? How do we make our excuses as to our behavior when we have approached the thing that we must not eat of or touch? Eve was told if you partake, you die. She believed that at first according to the conversation of the serpent with her. The serpent took an approach that gets us all. Go ahead! It will make you smarter, wiser, becoming gods and knowing good from evil.
It is so sad that Eve knew all she needed to know and didn’t realize it. Do you see the end coming? God is good and never evil. He made it plain to both Adam and Eve that He was good, but would allow them to make up their minds. He didn’t put the tree there for disobedience; He put it there for obedience. Surely they would see by the way God walked with them and talked with them and provided that good was all they needed. The beginning had to be wonderful. God was the perfect example to follow.
Now, look at the difference. We are wiser, smarter and living our own lives. It seems the serpent has won. The big difference here is the serpent wants it to end. He doesn’t want the Garden of Eden kind of experience with God. Neither does he want any of us to have it. I am so glad God always has this experience for us if we obey Him. The end that God has in mind will be eternal. Yes, He says the end is nigh and it will be eternal. The beginning started this journey and I want the end to be for me exactly what God wants.

I found the retelling of creation a little "typical" - too much like the original, if you would. Try to put a bit of yourself into it, so I know I'm not reading it verbatim from His word.
