Have any of us ever seen or experienced anything as hard as the “I Can’t Do it
Syndrome” when it plagues us continually at some point or another in our life? This
happens when the crisis tends to appear to us…somehow bigger than the hand of our
heavenly Father.
There are many necessary tasks we deem quite difficult. Once this is stamped in our
mind it is better to seek God, pray to find courage if we can. Now is a time that strange
events around us may bring more caution to most of us. We need to wake up and know
that the rivers of God will never run dry. Come look with me at Psalm 3:3. (KJV)
“But thou O lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.”
We all know that God is with us even when our circumstances make us believe
otherwise. As long as we trust Him, it will forever be what preacher Paul has taught us by
saying in Philippians 4:13: (KJV)“Ï can do all things in Christ which strengthens me”
How To Adopt A “Can-Do-It” Attitude.
1- Let us set an aim for overcoming our fear with a beautiful and encouraging Bible verse
like Paul’s Phil. 4:13
2- Let us put our all in all in whatever we have to do and say…even if and when it seems
very difficult…KNOWING that Jesus is truly with us to help us out.
3- Let us keep our trust in our Father to the full: He will help us to do even what losers
refuse to do.
As we use these three principles and put them into practice, the Lord God helps us
to develop courage and give us more helpful hints for ourselves and for those around us.
This true story in the book “Beneath the Cross of Jesus” by A. L. Griffith says it all.
It is about a young Korean exchange student, back in 1958. He was a leader in Christian
circles at the University of Pennsylvania. One evening as he was putting a letter for his
parents in the mailbox; the story says, “without a word eleven leather-jacketed teen aged
boys beat him with a black-jack and a lead pipe …and left him lying dead in a gutter.”
All the state of Philadelphia cried out for vengeance. But not the student’s parents:
Although bereaved and heart broken, they sent a letter saying,
“Our family has decided to petition that the most generous treatment within the laws
of your government be given to those who committed this criminal act…. In order to
give evidence of our sincere hope contained in this request, we decided to save some
money, to start a fund to be used for the religious, educational, vocational and social
guidance of the boys when they are released. We dared to express our hope with a spirit
we received from the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ who died for our sins.”
Dear friends, do you realize what these parents did??
They listened to the full promises Jesus Christ gave in the Book of God…
Our great Savior is alive! As part of this good hymn says, “The body they may kill… Yet
Jesus abides still. Amen”
