Feminine
Frail
Echoed weakly
Floating like a loose feather
On crisp cool currents
Of steep stone canyon walls.
Her song
Pathetic
Pale
Floundered feebly
Skipping like a scratched record
‘Tween the gruff granite
Of steep stone canyon walls.
Her words
Pained pleadings
Wailed
Fluttered faintly
Flying like a blind falcon
Through the wintry winds
Of steep stone canyon walls.
The girl
Desperate
Dire
Whimpered wryly
Begging like a captured bear
Above barren bluffs
Of steep stone canyon walls .
The leap
Ill-minded
Ire
Flailing Freely
Falling like a wounded wren
Amid silence screamed
Of steep stone canyon walls.
The echo
A haunting
Choir
Lingered lastly
“Doesn’t anybody care?”
Staining red the rocks
Of steep stone canyon walls.
I hear her now.
Though
Just an echo.
Her death
Fortissimo
Thundering kettle drums
Accented
With
Crashing cymbals
Vibrating
To silence.
The symphony
Singes
My soul.
In the cavernous
Steep
Stone canyon walls
I ignored
An echo.
"Doesn’t…
Anybody…
Care?…"
God forgive me.
I hear her now.
