Is it Mozart, or Handel or Bach?
And how will the music affect us;
Will it gladden, inspire or shock?
Will Elvis be singing his heart out
While the angels announce, “Let us rock”?
Will drummers be pounding excitement
Or will harpists be soothing the flock?

Talent is Christ’s recreation,
Great voices appointed to few.
But to others a special enchantment
Of soul that sends joy shining through.
Songs about love and fulfillment,
Praise hymns that are faithful and true:
All are a special endowment
And Heaven will write them anew.

We know God’s creation is varied,
The colors more vivid, profound.
Every sound, every word, every feeling
Rejoices on Heavenly ground.
May our music be worthy of Heaven,
Let it soar, let it roar, let it bound.
As the stars sang when earth was created,
So the angels’ applause will resound.
