as He watched man depart through the Eastern Gate.
Man had skins on his back, a bit of instinct, intelligence,
and His Love. It was going to be enough, for now.
"When shall I bring Your children back, Father?"
The Lord's Wrath subsided. The sound of His Son's Voice
kindled intense warmth in His Heart. "It shall be awhile,
Son. My children have many things to discover. First, they
must learn to worship and obey Me."
"They will, Father." Emmanuel caressed the back of one of
His lions. A mighty purr rumbled in its heavy throat.
"Yes, I have chosen them to be My Own. But, they have a
will, and they must choose to be Mine."
"I will teach them, Father. A pregnant she lion jumped
into His Lap. She reached out, and nipped an ear of her
mate. Emmanuel smiled at her.
"Yes, You will, My Son. But, the time will come when each
man must accept Your Sacrifice, or not."
"That is very tragic, Father. I love them, and I want them
all to hear My Voice." Another creature lumbered over; it
was a great elephant. Its giant tusks reached high branches
over His Head. The gray and wrinkled beast slowly tucked its
humongous feet under, as it sat down beside Him.
"The Evil that hates them, will do everything in Its struggle
to keep Us apart."
"I will cast It into the Pit of Fire!" Emmanuel's Voice made
the lion's rumble sound squeakish by comparison.
"You will, My Son. You shall have Victory in My Season of
the Last Shofar."
Emmanuel gently stood up, so that His creatures would not
be startled. The she lion swiped at her mate's paw, and
hissed at him. "They are deaf, and blind, Father. It is a
time of darkness for them."
"Yes, My Son. Your Light will shine soon. It will come, and
they will not be able to shut it out. It will arrive, and
fight with the Darkness. Only in My Time, shall Darkness
be defeated."
"I will obliterate it." Emmanuel's Voice, so tender with His
Father, and His creatures, spoke from His Warrior Side.
He was Warrior for man's living soul. But, man was yet in
his babyhood, and many things had to be revealed. Man's
battles would come, and they would go. The final war was
waiting to be waged, and led by the Lion of His Army. The
soldiers would be hand chosen, and expertly trained. Their
instruction would take many centuries of decades of years.
Their most courageous battle was to be fought and won,
on a field amidst the dead and the living.
"Who are the dead, My Son?" The Lord watched His children,
protectively. Man fought with the soil, while his wife cried
out in painful birth.
"They will be the ones who won't accept Me. They're the
ones who will deny Me, to the End of Days. My heart weeps
for them. My Spirit will call out to them, until the last
moment of earth. Only then, will I touch My Feet, to Rein,
in the New Jerusalem."
"And, the Lord of Armies is their Salvation. He shall wait
for the Bride, His Beloved Church."
Emmanuel smiled with tears in His Beautiful Eyes. "He
waits under the Chupah - the Wedding Canopy. Will she
receive Him? Will she give herself to Him? Will she annoint
herself with the oil of love and surrender?" Emmanuel found
it difficult to speak; the lump in His Throat was like granite.
His thoughts were tortured with the atrocities to come.
"Yes, My Son. But, first she must be still and listen. She
shall hear My Word, and obey what is in her heart. Only
then, will Evil be conquered."
"I understand, Father. So I wait, longing for the
Eternal Day when My Bride is led to Me. Pride must not
soil her clothes, nor shall sin tatter her garments! My
Blood will cover her sin, and she shall come to Me in joyful
abundance!"
