with all the games it plays.
Mp3 and I pod right at hand
and text all I can say.
All of these are running
the noise goes on and on.
And on top all of this,
the cell phone ring’s a song.
I wade through my minds pollution
through the nightmares and the screams.
I don’t know what’s in the words
or what the stories mean.
The sounds become a white noise
that slowly disappears.
My transgression’s a blazing image
drenched in mournful tears.
I’ll try to remember
the prayer that’s meant to be.
Let my Father hear my words
“God grant me serenity.”
It’s only in this silence
can I hear my Father’s word.
I find the peace surpassing
the best I’ve ever heard.
I push away from my desk
put electronics in a box.
I call God my planer
since my digital detox.
