Sin's distance measured cannot meet
With love and joy, peace and rest
Adopted in, no more a guest
We see our sin cast far away
As far as east is from the west
A foolish journey, senseless quest
To take again the bondage way
With love and joy, peace and rest
Some put Redeemer to the test
The dog returns, "Let grace abound!"
As far as east is from the west
No. Dead to sin, forever blessed
We journey high where heaven waits
With love and joy, peace and rest
He knew our form is dust at best
And so he reached across the gap
As far as east is from the west
With love and joy, peace and rest
Psalm 103: 11-12 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.

I'm not sure of the concept though, because It's different than I understood the verse to mean. Maybe it's just the way I'm reading it.
Actually, I like poems that make me think... that make me read them over again to understand the meaning between the lines.
A couple places were a little confusing at first, but after rereading it, I understood what you meant. The notes at the bottom are much appreciated.
God bless~
Congratulations on a scrupulous entry!!
