Kind and loving Father
can I have a word or two?
I found some things I’m saying
are not so very true.

Every day I ask You
to make me clean and bright.
Sadly I’m covered with sin
before that very night.

I really try with all my might
to show you that I can.
But my will turns into dust
my feet- turn into sand.

The things I should not do
come pouring out of me.
The goodness I should be feeling
is nowhere I can see.

Dear God, will You stop listening
when I’m lost within my lies?
All the times I came to You
were just some feeble tries.

As I’m walking down the path
there’s peace surrounding me.
Will You walk by my side
my spirit please set free?

I have this feeling in my soul
that helps me understand.
You will take this lump of clay
Forge it into a man.

So I stand here as a sinner
seeking to be complete.
God, take my sins and Your love
And make these two ends meet.
