Topic: Elephant in the Room (12/05/13)
There’s unspoken secrets
that hide inside my brain.
They take the place of sanitary
condemned by them I’m framed.

If I told these secrets
by them I would be damned.
I’ve lost my direction
I don’t know who I am.

I try to talk to people.
they look at me with gloom.
They treat me like the elephant
in the middle of the room.

Once again I wander
through the cobwebs of my mind.
My sins are growing endless
no solution can I find.

Someone spoke of a God
who could stop my tears.
He would lift my burdens
and take away my fears.

They said all that’s needed
is everyday to pray.
Even if most the time
you fail in every way.

His forgiveness everlasting
makes you whiter than the snow.
No matter where your travel leads
you know that God will go.

He will hear all your prayers
and never wear a frown.
Cover you with His wings
stand you on Holy Ground.

Wow! This is astonishing. I feel like somehow you've been listening to my inner dialog. If I could write beautiful poetry, these could have been my own words. The only red ink I have is tiny, but I think it'd be more powerful if you hadn't switched to the universal you in the last few stanzas. These are powerful words no matter what and I understand why you switched to you. It might have been clearer if you used quotation marks around the words they said. But for me personally, when I read it the next time I feel unworthy, I think I'll read it like this:

Even if most the time
I fail in every way.

I know that God will go.

He will hear all my prayers
and never wear a frown.
Cover me with His wings
stand me on Holy Ground.

Wow! This is just perfect and the timing of you writing these words this week and me reading them just this second, has God's fingerprints all over it. Thank you for being obedient to God; you have blessed me immensely.
