And now I'm blessed to say
I'll soon dismiss your rotting corpse
You've long outlived your stay
Your wicked ways have crippled me
With guilt I can't repay
I shall not let it cling to me
Another single day
Your presence may not linger here
For you are not my spouse
Your upside-down-tornado hat
Will not destroy my house
Your raspy throat spews dragon flames
With every snort and wheeze
But in these waters I shall quench
Your feverish disease
No longer shall your pointy wand
Shoot darts of fiery shame,
Zap warts at flaws His blood has purged,
Or resurrect past blame
No longer shall your wrinkled lips
Weave spells or incantations
Into a sticky spider web
Of strange hallucinations
Your lustful wink won't lure my eyes
With visions that can't see
For I have chosen to depart
From all idolatry
Your cauldron shall not clog my brain
With drugs that blind my mind
I'll pour those potions down the drain
My heart they will not bind
The poison of unholy fear
Which kept me long sedated
Has run its course with our divorce
Your tablets are outdated
The bottle cracks, and every pill
Of malice, lies and greed
Shall fall un-tasted to the ground
Its sin I shall not feed
The Spirit's come to quicken me
In Christ I shall abide
His sacrifice redeemed me
That I might become His bride
No longer shall I live to please
The ire of your desire
And so it is with confidence
I'm letting you expire

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life... Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin... Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:4, 6 & 11, KJV)

I liked 'the ire of your desire'. Is there a term for this device of taking a word within a larger word and opposing it in this way? Thank you for the enjoyment and great encouragement you gave.
