Soft cradled against her breast,
Touches her lips to tender crown
Of one she’s joyfully awaited.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
Father with his little son
Kisses his grubby cheek,
Never noticing the playtime stains
For the tightness of his hug.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
The kisses of beloved siblings
And other family favorites
Or friends held dear for many years
Are symbols of shared affection.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
Parents give kisses to their children,
Showing pride in their achievements,
Honoring milestones that they reach,
With a devotion that grows ever stronger.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
Young lovers in first budding
Of passion’s blooming flower
Whisper amid shared kisses
Their forever adoration.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
A longtime married couple’s kisses
Taste of enduring love and loyalty,
Of memories shared for days gone by,
And of promises yet to keep.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
A traveler comes home again
From journeys far away
And gratefully kneels down to kiss
Beloved homeland’s soil.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
Those gathered round to bid goodbye
To one whom they have cherished
Kiss one more time with hopeful tears
Of reunion time in heaven.
What could be sweeter to the taste?
