To share the finest feast along with me
Of promises which we will find together
In David’s Psalm, beloved Twenty-three.
We’re promised a refreshing for our souls,
An ever faithful Shepherd who will lead
Along the path through quiet peaceful places,
Providing as we go our every need.
Our Shepherd, fair, will guide us all aright,
In order to bring honor to His name.
He’ll walk beside us in the darkest day,
A promise that is worthy to proclaim.
He’ll comfort us when we have cause to fear
For evils that might lurk outside the door.
Whatever troubles we may have to face,
We’ve promise of protection evermore.
We’re guaranteed to be God’s honored guests
With blessings more than our hearts can contain.
Through life, He’ll send His goodness and His love,
Till with Him in His house we will remain.
