Dear God, help me recognize the abundance from Your hands
In every daily blessing, in each loving reprimand
Help me to remember as I taste the holy meal
The ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate appeal

My mind cannot fathom such cost at my expense
Agape love--immeasurable--so pure and so intense
Help me reflect with thankfulness and praise
The wealth of Your mercy when I travel crooked ways

Help me to relinquish things that matter not
So that I may focus on treasures that won’t rot
Help me appreciate the wonders all around
Riches in creation, harvests that abound

Help my heart respond while living out my creed
Showing Your compassion to strangers in their need
Oh Lord I am not worthy, nor will I ever be
But yet in your mansion there’s a room reserved for me

I am not a pauper though there’s nothing that I own
My value comes from God who someday will call me home
Rich in spirit, rich in worth, priceless--because you see
I was chosen by a King who gave His life for me

Charla, you've woven this with so much truth. I appreciated each illusion to a Scripture phrase and thought. Your last stanza is powerful. I LOVE your title of this beautiful work.
