I watched as people hauled things away.
For eighteen years we struggled along.
But now was the end of this dairyman’s song.
We had given our all, we had done our best.
We raised two kids and were put to the test.
We watched as the future of farming would stop.
No more cows to milk, no more corn to crop.
It was the darkest of days and the worst of times.
We held on to hope while observing the signs.
We knew at that moment nothing would be the same.
To now look ahead would need to be our claim.
And life begins again.
It’s been fourteen years since this sellout took place.
We’ve since re-engaged in this “living” type race.
The kids have moved on to make lives of their own.
We’ve learned to have hope when the future’s unknown.
For Christ is our Savior, our Master and Lord.
From the day we were married, in Him we adored.
When we couldn’t stand up He carried us through.
When life was its darkest, He made everything new.
His title of Savior was easy to grasp.
His love and forgiveness He never would mask.
We called Him our Master and sometimes our Lord.
But didn’t always live like we were in one accord.
Many will claim of this Salvation complete.
But refusing to humbly bow at His feet.
Not showing submission to the Lord and the King.
Not selling out life and only His song to sing.
I am sold out for Christ, I submit Him my all.
I ask Him each morning to clarify His call.
I thank Him for saving me; Lord is His name.
For it’s only His will that I forever will claim.
