News abounds, shocks, astounds

Video whirring, stories stirring
Screens that tell of lives in hell

Bombs exploding, lives imploding
Children sold for bags of gold

Shots of fashion, steamy passion
Truth revealed, no more concealed

Google news with graphic views
Attempted rape, a grand escape

Murders vile, a paedophile
Insurance fraud and death by sword

A jilted bride and suicide
Talking heads, serious feds

Drug busts here, excessive fear
Shattered lives and beaten wives

Volcanic lakes, earthquake shakes
Houses fall and buildings tall

Connections made, fees are paid
News goes out, a media shout

Twitter feeds and story leads
Facebook page and lives engage

Screens that glow, texts that flow
Papers sell, radios tell

Cameras flash, channels clash
Reporters write, technicians light

Viral spread, words are said
Gossip flies, truth and lies

The techno age, a different stage
Worldwide links, distance shrinks

Up to date, not too late
Media lives and info gives

Excellent writing! An interesting approach to putting across what the media reports most of the time. Sounds there are more bad news than good, which is usual of the media. This poem makes it very clear why we should do our part to keep people up to date with the right stuff—the good news.

I thought this was a good overall view of the sorts of things reported in the media. It has a nice flow too.
